Salutes

Fushu Daiko

On the occasion of the celebration of the Kagoshima / Miami
tree planting ceremony at Ichimura Miami-Japan Garden on Watson
Island. The City of Miami wishes to pay tribute to Fushu Daiko's artistic genius
and outstanding contributions to Japanese cultural preservation. We are particularly pleased
to honor this performing group, made up of many nationalities and backgrounds, and its joyous
pursuit and mastery of Taiko drumming and appreciation in the way of Taiko. It is, therefore,
fitting and appropriate, on behalf of our citizens, that we pause in our official deliberations to
hail Fushu Daiko'sdedication to sharing the inspiring and powerful drum rhythms that
permeate the hearts of those who hear the Taiko's beat, and we wholeheartedly
applaud the efforts to share Japan's cultural legacy though art.
